On December 8, the 2nd China International Rail Transit and Equipment Manufacturing Industry Exposition opened in Zhuzhou, Hunan province. As a global innovative IoT company, BOE presented a slew of smart mobility solutions. Liu Feng, Senior Vice President of BOE and CEO of the Sensor and Solution Business, attended the thematic forum and delivered a keynote speech.
With the rapid advances in internet technology, the number of interfaces is growing exponentially, and the era of the IoT is approaching, noted Liu. Against this backdrop, BOE integrates its industrial resources and professional capabilities with the IoT industry and provides cutting-edge smart sensor solutions for global users, with a focusing on optoelectronic sensing, to empower the digital transformation of rail transit.
At the exposition, BOE’s smart dimmable window and transparent window solutions drew a large number of visitors. The smart dimmable window adopts cutting-edge dye-doped liquid crystal technology and its brightness changes with the transmittance, which can be adjusted by touching the light sensor on the window. The window is mainly used in trains. BOE has developed zonal dimming and human-window interaction systems to meet the needs of multiple scenarios. On the basis of the smart dimmable window, the smart transparent window can display information to passengers, such as the real-time train operation information, rail transit transfer information and emergency service information. Passengers can also check out the transfer information, local attractions and foods and the like on the transparent display. BOE’s smart dimmable window and transparent window solutions boast a rich set of features such as light control, temperature control, glare protection and UV protection, and have been applied to a number of key projects such as the Beijing-Xiongan Sightseeing Area, Beijing-Zhangjiakou Sightseeing Area and China’s independently developed high-speed maglev train that can run at speeds of up to 600 km/h.
BOE’s another futuristic product, the 49-inch transparent OLED bar display, was also a magnet at the exposition. This display can be mounted on the upper part of the subway window to display train operation information, transfer information, emergency service information, weather, and other information to passengers. It can also be used on subway doors to turn them into smart HD display interfaces, which can show information and ads without changing the original appearance and transparency.
BOE also presented 86-inch, 43-inch, 36.6-inch and other LCD bar displays, which feature high brightness, a long service life, high definition and custom size. They have been widely applied on the subway lines of 11 cities such as Beijing, Taiyuan and Qingdao and can also be used in retail, high-speed rail, public transport and other application scenarios.
With the advent of the metaverse, BOE’s AR mobility solution came under the spotlight. Notably, its AR remote assistance system is an ultra-thin UHD optical system solution that can share the screen with remote experts through real-time audio/video communication. It comes with a variety of features such as instant messaging, screenshot sharing, file sharing and QR code recognition to help improve the of production, maintenance and training efficiency.
At the exposition, BOE also showcased its world-leading omni-media traffic management platform built on IoT, AI and big data technologies, which is suitable for a wide range of application scenarios such as subway station, high-speed railway station, airport, and bus station. The smart solution based on the AIoT and digital media platform empowers the field of smart mobility.
In the future, BOE will continue to work with its partners in the rail transit sector to “create shared value through in-depth cooperation and collaborative development.” They will work together to expand the cooperation platform, build an enabling IoT ecosystem and provide more innovative smart mobility solutions for global users to help deliver an even smarter and more amazing travel experience.
